LORI J. GUTHRIE, ESQ. has extensive legal experience, having worked as a paralegal before attending law school. She has over 10 years of experience handling construction defect litigation representing both plaintiffs and subcontractors. She also has experience handling general civil litigation matters and employment disputes. Previously a partner at a litigation firm in San Diego, Ms. Guthrie brings a unique defense perspective with her, which has been extremely valuable in representing plaintiffs. While with her prior firm, Ms. Guthrie was a three time recipient of the "Smart Work" award.

Ms. Guthrie received her Bachelor of Science, in Business Administration (Management) from San Diego State University in 1987 and her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from California Western School of Law in 1998. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Guthrie worked as a paralegal, after obtaining her Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego, with honors.

While attending law school, Ms. Guthrie participated in the Traynor Moot Court Competition, earning Third Best Brief Award. She was also a Staff Editor of the California Western Law Review, and was awarded an American Jurisprudence Award in Legal Research. Her law review note, Lori J. Lechner, Note, The Fate of Shareholders of Closely Held Corporations in the Wake of Bily v. Arthur Young, was published in 1997 (34 Cal. W.L. Rev. 245). In addition, Ms. Guthrie has had many articles published in "The Update", a quarterly publication of the San Diego Defense Lawyers, over the past several years.
